First Foundation Scholarship

Over the past decade, Pāmu has proudly partnered with First Foundation, supporting scholars through tertiary education. Our commitment includes not only financial assistance but also mentoring and meaningful work experience across our farms and offices, giving students real-world exposure to the agricultural sector. The programme helps talented young people—many first in their family—access education and careers, creating a ripple effect for their whānau and communities. Pāmu scholars include: Cheyenne Kirkman, Jazmine Murray, Nora Paicu, Georgia Boland, Kaylee Hutchinson and Bella Taylor, who now works for Pāmu as a Farm Technician in Te Anau.

Bella Taylor, who now works for Pāmu, is also among the scholars.

Dr Warren Parker Agricultural Scholarship

This scholarship supports a third-year agricultural student at Massey University in their final year of study and includes a summer work placement with the Pāmu team — offering recipients valuable industry experience and insight into the business of farming at scale. It honours the late Dr Warren Parker, whose remarkable contributions shaped New Zealand’s agricultural sector. Dr Parker had a distinguished career in research, governance, and leadership, serving as Chair of Pāmu, chief executive of Scion and Manaaki Whenua, and chief operating officer of AgResearch. His work in agricultural science and innovation continues to influence farming productivity, research, and education across the country.

Pāmu backs these scholarships to support students, back their potential, provide hands-on experience in agriculture, and help shape New Zealand’s agricultural future.
