Pamu's Kepler Farm in Te Anau was announced the Regional Supreme Award winner Southland Ballance Farm Environment Awards on Thursday night.

Managed by Travis Leslie and Catriona Cunningham, Kepler Farm also took home four other category awards:

• Ballance Agri-Nutrients Soil Management Award

• Massey University Innovation Award

• Predator Free NZ Trust Predator Free Farm Award

• Environment Southland Water Quality & Biodiversity Award

In the past two years, more than 10,000 trees, plants and shrubs have been planted in riparian zones and as shelter for stock. Judges said, Kepler Farm has an impressive Farm Environment Plan and commended all the work done to date, and plans for the future, for the biodiversity of the farm. The judges also praised the team on their high awareness of environmental issues.

Kepler Farm will host a public field day on Thursday 9 May; and then they’ll be off to the National Sustainability Showcase with all Regional Supreme winners on Thursday 6 June in Hamilton.
