Jed Rowland

Pāmu Farm Apprentice

Early Inspiration

Growing up in Paengaroa, Jed Rowland always had a feeling he’d end up in agriculture. He says:

“After getting exposed to it when I was younger, I really liked the sound of it.”

Apprenticeship Journey

That early spark turned into hands-on experience working with a mate, Mitch Bradford – someone Jed credits as one of the biggest influences on his career so far.

Now, Jed is diving deeper into the industry as a Pāmu apprentice, eager to build his skills and carve out a long-term future in the farming sector. “I was nervous on my first day,” he admits, “but I was also eager to learn more.”

That enthusiasm is already paying off, with Jed especially excited about learning new skills, such as shearing and training dogs. Livestock is his passion, and he's driven by the idea that there’s always a better way to do things. He has his sights set firmly on the future:

“In five years, I want to be a farm manager and eventually, I’d love to own my own farm.”

Future Aspirations

He loves working with animals and being in the fresh air. Outside of work, you’ll find Jed off-roading, fishing, or hunting.

He also brings practical skills to the table. “Fencing’s a hidden talent,” he says with a grin.

When asked to describe himself in three words, Jed goes with: hardworking, helpful, and kind. We couldn’t agree more.
